West Ham United Football Club News...

Malcolm Fleming, from Dunedin, New Zealand recently attended the West Ham United Coaching Diploma in London. Joined by his counterparts from America, Canada and Mexico - Malcolm got the chance to observe, coach and study the West Ham United coaching methodology and understand their approach. From the environment to the philosophy, Malcolm even found time to watch a Premier League game and studied directly under the guidance of Paul Heffer.

When speaking about the program, Malcolm said “I would highly recommend this to other coaches in the Oceania region...the quality of the training, practical advice and environment at West Ham is all designed around quality and involves playing the game of the future. It was an incredibly rewarding experience and I am a better coach able to better implement the West Ham way as a result.”

2014 West Ham United International Oceania National Camp

West Ham United Oceania Academy are excited to welcome Tony Carr MBE, former Director of the West Ham United Academy and current West Ham United Club Ambassador to the 2016 National Camps taking place in Australia and New Zealand.

This opportunity will allow all the players at our National Camps in Australia and New Zealand the unique privilege to work closely with one of the most influential figures from the West Ham United Academy, as well as work with many of the current West Ham United Academy coaches who will also be in attendance.

Tony is credited with producing many talented players for West Ham United who have been sold for over 100 million pounds. The England squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup contained no less than seven players who he had  coached at West Ham United - Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, Jermain Defoe, Glen Johnson and John Terry.

"I am really looking forward to my visit to Australia and New Zealand for the West Ham United National Camps. My last visit 2 years ago was really enjoyable, with the standard of player improving year on year.

This year I will be visiting New Zealand for my first time and I am really looking forward to seeing the young talent on show there.

Hopefully my presence will show how seriously we at West Ham United take our international camps and the players will be able to showcase their abilities with staff that are experienced in spotting promising talent.

Hope to see you in the September" Tony Carr MBE

The West Ham United International Academy National Camp is invite only and players must have attended one of our 2016 Regional Camps.

UK Tour

In September, we had two squads of players and several parents go on a tour to the UK directly from the National Camp. This is the first time we have done this and it was a huge success. With the boys spending time at the National Camp training together and bonding as a team it helped to make them more competitive in the UK.  Read More
